Welcome back!
January at Acadia....
January is a full month with basketball starting up in full speed. The band trip is January 30 - Feb. 1st. Germany trip information meeting is coming up for this year's grade 8 students interested for 2014/2015!
As it is cold with wind chill recently, please make sure your Acadian students are dressed in touques, mitts, warm jackets and appropriate footwear to make their way to and from school. We anticipate many indoor lunch hours when the temperature does not cooperate. At this time of the year, sending a dry, extra pair of socks is also a good idea.
No school days "off" in January, except for the half-day of conferences on Friday, January 31st in the AFTERNOON ONLY (12:45 - 3:30). I will be unavailable for this afternoon unfortunately.
February at Acadia....
Please book anytime you need to speak with me about your child's progress on Wednesday, February 5th from 7 to 9 pm.
Monday, February 3rd is a Metro Common Day with NO CLASSES for students.
Friday, February 7th is PARTICIPACTION where students venture out with staff to do a variety of physical activities in the dead of winter! Check in with your Acadian student to see what they have signed up for! I can't wait.
Monday, February 17th is Louis Riel Day, no classes for students.

October at Acadia
October is a busy month! Students are playing volleyball, planning WE Day events, learning about science fair and other biotechnology challenges in the Mad Scientists club, finishing up selling chocolate bars for our school fundraiser (which will go towards supporting technology available to classes of students), singing in Choir with Mrs. Thiessen, playing in band with Mr. Ferguson, and working hard in physical education classes with Mr. Oberholtzer, Mr. Filewich and Mrs. Sampson. I think I'm missing a few things too.
