Happy summer!

Happy summer vacation!  Well earned, Acadia Junior High students!  June was crazy, but now that it is July, I hope that you have had time to wind down and enjoy some time off. I heard some folks had lovely Canada day campfires, roasted marshmallows or made S'mores.  I hope that you had something awesome to burn!

Hopefully the weather gets warmer and you can enjoy time outside in nature with your friends and families.

While the school office reopens on Monday, August 25th, I look forward to seeing you in September when classes start. If you are checking the doors for class lists, keep in mind I will be teaching 9-3 math, 9-4 math and 9-9 math and science (9-9 is my homeroom).

Happy New Year 2014 - January at Acadia Junior High

Welcome back!

January at Acadia....

January is a full month with basketball starting up in full speed.  The band trip is January 30 - Feb. 1st.  Germany trip information meeting is coming up for this year's grade 8 students interested for 2014/2015!

As it is cold with wind chill recently, please make sure your Acadian students are dressed in touques, mitts, warm jackets and appropriate footwear to make their way to and from school.  We anticipate many indoor lunch hours when the temperature does not cooperate.  At this time of the year, sending a dry, extra pair of socks is also a good idea.

No school days "off" in January, except for the half-day of conferences on Friday, January 31st in the AFTERNOON ONLY (12:45 - 3:30).  I will be unavailable for this afternoon unfortunately.

February at Acadia....

Please book anytime you need to speak with me about your child's progress on Wednesday, February 5th from 7 to 9 pm.

Monday, February 3rd is a Metro Common Day with NO CLASSES for students.

Friday, February 7th is PARTICIPACTION where students venture out with staff to do a variety of physical activities in the dead of winter!  Check in with your Acadian student to see what they have signed up for!  I can't wait.

Monday, February 17th is Louis Riel Day, no classes for students.
